The brand that has taken Europe by a storm, Essence, is now available in Australia! This brand is super cheap, and the products that I have tried are decent considering the price! Essence is currently only available at Target. I will have some reviews on several products soon for you all!

REVIEW: Kora Organics by Miranda Kerr.

I had been wanting to try Kora Organics for a long, long time so I was pleased when I finally decided to give it a go. The products that I tried were the cream cleanser, the citrus spray mist, the purifying day care moisturiser and the eye gel. Each of these products are 100 % organic, containing no chemicals and only using the goodness of natural ingredients such as avocado, sandalwood and noni.

I cannot explain how absolutely amazing each of these products were on my skin. As my skin is very oily, yet is prone to become very sensitive and dry these products adapted to my skin and gave it a healthy glow without irritating it or making me break out.

The cream cleanser had a wonderful creamy texture and the scent was absolutely divine. I would give my skin and decollate area one wash in the morning and two at night - which is what everyone should be doing no matter what products they use! Despite the very creamy and moisturising texture, the cleanser throughly cleaned my skin and left it feeling hydrated and beautiful. The only downside to this cleanser is that it did not last very long. Three washes per day and the cleanser was out within under a month.

The citrus spray mist was once again a wonderful product from the Kora Organics range. One to two sprays covered the face and left it hydrated without making my skin become oily. An issue I tend to have with spray toners is that they tend to not cover my face evenly, leaving large amounts of the product on one area of my face. The Kora citrus spray certainly did not leave me with that problem. I have been using the spray for at least three to four months now and it is only now I am getting down to the last few sprays. If you are not a fan of citrus scents, there are other options in the range available such as calming lavender and rose hip.

The Kora eye gel treatment is a perfect alternative to an eye cream. This gel leaves the eye area hydrated, although does not leave a residue like some other eye creams. This gel is perfect under make up as it does not make foundation or concealer crease or rub off.

The last product in the Kora Organics range that I tried was the purifying day care moisturiser. As like all of the other Kora products, this oil-free moisturiser had a beautiful scent to it. This product is perfect for those with oily to combination skin, as it is able to hydrate the skin without making it shiny and oily.

The only negatives about the Kora Organics range is the price and size of the products. Recently, Miranda and the Kora team changed the packaging of the products from the white bottles in the picture above to beautiful aqua packaging. Not only did the bottles change, but the size of them did also. The products are now at least 20 g smaller and if I am not mistaken the price has increased. These products are probably too expensive for me to use on a regular basis, although there is absolutely no doubt that they are worth every cent.

Hello Beauties.

I wanted to begin this blog talking about the importance of a decent skincare routine. One should feel confident and beautiful in their skin, but for many people this is certainly not the case! For instance I have suffered from moderate to severe acne, which has left some faint scarring in my cheeks. I still get the odd pimple from time to time and unfortunately still suffer from blackheads and whiteheads, although I feel that a great skincare routine can help manage this immensely.

First of all it is important to know your skin type. Either normal, oily, combination to oily, sensitive and/or dry, sensitive. If you are not sure what your skin type is there are people who can help you (a dermatologist or a skin care expert at a department store).

After you know your skin type, work out what products would be right for you. I know what you are thinking - confusing! Although it doesn’t need to be so hard, just do a lot of careful research and read a tonne of reviews that other people with similar skin to you have written, and consider their opinion. Always keep in mind that despite the fact that someone may have the same skin type as you, a particular product that works for them may not always be the case for you!

There are three basic steps to a great skincare routine. Cleanse, tone and moisturise. Cleanse the face once in the morning and twice in the evening to make sure that all make up is removed. And always remember the number one golden beauty rule - NEVER sleep with make up on! I cannot stress this enough. A lot of people don’t see the benefits of using a toner, although I truly believe that they are necessary. Toners are available in sprays (which are a personal favourite of mine) and in a bottle where a cotton ball is needed to wipe the product on the face. Toners are multitasking wonders and you can see the difference between using one and not using one. A moisturiser is also vital, no matter what skin type you have! Moisturisers protect the skin and provide a slight barrier against environmental damages.

Of course to compliment this blog post about the importance of a skin care routine, I will review some excellent skin care systems in my next post.

Keeping sparkling! xx
